Driveway Heating Toronto is the best way to melt the snow which builds up on your driveway during the winters. You no longer have to worry about how you will get to work or that you might have to run late. It is time to bid farewell to traditional ways of melting snow, like the use of chemicals and salt, and shoveling. These not only reduce the life of your driveway but also have an impact on the environment. Clearing of the driveway needs to be done with utmost care. Otherwise, it can turn into a disaster. But all of this can be avoided when you opt for a driveway heating system. They are of two types – electric and hydronic. Here is all that you need to know before getting a hydronic electric heating system for your driveway.

How does the hydronic driveway heating system work?

Unlike the electric heating system, which uses electricity, the hydronic heating system uses heated water, which is pumped through the tubing to heat the driveway. After the system has been installed, a boil acts as the warmer, which heats the water in the system. The temperature of the water is pre-determined. This is how the boiler knows precisely how hot the water should be. This heated water reaches temperatures between 140 to 180 degrees Fahrenheit. After the water has been heated up, the pump will begin to move this warm water through the set of tubes. This will then warm up your driveway evenly. These tubes are installed underneath the concrete or asphalt surfaces of your driveway.

This hydronic heating system will help to keep your paved driveway warm. If you keep the system on even after the snow has melted, any new snow which falls on it will automatically melt and run off to the street. When it comes to price, the hydronic heating system is more expensive than the electric heating system. But in comparison to the electric heating system, the hydronic system is more durable and efficient. They don’t use as much energy as a traditional heating system and melt the snow quickly.

Why should you opt for a hydronic driveway heat system?

There are several reasons why you should opt for a hydronic heating system for your driveway. One of the reasons why it is a popular choice is because they are easy to maintain. The heating system can heat up large areas efficiently. They can also be used with the existing boilers inside the home to warm up the house. The tubing used is durable and allows an even distribution of heat, melting the snow quickly. It can be used for residential, commercial, and industrial applications.

What are the cons of a hydronic driveway heat system?

This type of heating system can’t be installed over an existing cement driveway. The tubing of the system also erodes over time and would require replacing. If the tubing breaks, then it can make the heating system to be inefficient.
