Want To Build A House: Few Steps To Take When Building

To build a house, whether in the city, on the beach, or in the countryside with building company like Trinity design & build for instance, many factors must be observed in the project design, especially in the work’s execution. The slope of the land, the type of soil in the place and its proper compaction, the Sun’s position to certain rooms of the house, ventilation, and ideal lighting in the internal environment of the building, among others.

However, it is common to observe some problems in some homes and buildings that we call “pathologies.” These pathologies are often caused by failures in the construction stage, which, over the years, are evidenced by the presence of mold on the walls (capillary infiltration), cracks in the corners of windows and doors, cracks in the walls, etc.

In addition to causing the property to depreciate, these facts bring other chronic problems that even affect the health of its residents, such as in the case of mold on the inner walls of the house, for example, which can trigger respiratory and allergic reactions problems.

To avoid problems like the ones mentioned above, write down some essential tips, so you don’t forget when building your house:

To Avoid The Presence Of Mold Or “Mold” On The Walls (Capillary Infiltration):

Every house must be waterproofed before the 1st row of bricks until the third row on the wall. For the 1st row of bricks, a “channel block” is used to place the rebars, subsequently filled with concrete.

Using a waterproofing product, such as asphalt blanket or bitumen, is recommended to prevent moisture from “rising” through the walls, causing mold and mildew. These products are found in building supply stores.

To Avoid Cracks And Cracks On The Walls, In The Corners Of Windows And Doors:

Even in the construction of simple one-story houses, it is always recommended to make a strap with hardware on the baldrame (running shoes) using two simple iron bars (rebars) to provide security for the foundation.

To avoid the action of roof or slab loads on the frames, which cause cracks, cracks, and cracks in the walls and corners of windows and doors, it is recommended that a lintel be made (using two simple rebar irons) in the first row of blocks above the doorways and windows.

A good practice is also recommended to make a strap (against lintel) to tie the last row of bricks on the walls (back) before the roof or the slab.

Rooms In The House To The Sun

Being quite objective, in constructing a house, some rooms must be positioned in relation to the Sun, sunrise, and sunset. Preferably those rooms with longer stays, such as bedrooms.

Thus, it is recommended that the bedrooms be positioned to receive the morning sun. In this way, these rooms will be less heated at dusk, providing better thermal comfort to the environment.

However, sunrise and sunset vary in position throughout the year. Thus, the most favorable position of the building’s windows in relation to the Sun should be northwest or northeast. It is not recommended that, if there is a possibility, that natural luminosity is discarded from the environment, even when in summer the solar intensity is greater because, in winter, this heating will be essential for the house.

To control natural light in times of great intensity, such as in summer, architectural measures can improve thermal comfort. Eaves, windows with shutters, planting of appropriate tree species (when possible) forming a barrier on the outside of the property, which softens but allows the passage of sunlight, etc.
