Heat is an essential aspect of life. Maintaining the proper temperatures in your home is vital to keep you comfortable. You may need a home heating system to keep yourself and your family warm and cozy during cold weather. Some technologies use a combined approach for both the heating system and the cooling system.

1.     Forced Air Heating Systems

A forced-air central heating system is a heating system that uses air for heat transfer. The forced-air heating system draws air from the room through vents, heats it, and then releases the hot air into your home using a blower fan through ducts. The modern forced-air heating systems are very quick at changing the temperature of a room and energy-efficient.

The main components of forced air heating systems consist of an air filter, a heating element, heat exchanger, vents, and various controls. To repair or replace some parts of your heat system, you can contact San Antonio heating repair professionals.

Types of forced air heating systems are natural gas/fuel forced air heating systems, electric forced air heating systems, and heat pump forced air heating systems.

2.     In-floor Radiant Heating Systems

In-floor radiant heating systems technology involves transferring heat from the heat source to the target object through electromagnetic waves to the floor. Types of Radiant Heating Systems include electric radiant, air radiant, and the hydronic radiant heating system.

3.     Electric radiant heating system

The electric radiant heating system uses metallic coils with high resistance, producing heat when an electric current passes through the metallic coils. Heat polymers then conduct heat from the heating coils to the floor. An electric radiant heating system is easy to maintain, but you may experience high electricity bills.

4.     Air radiant heating system

Air radiant heating system heats air and distributes the heated air to warm the floors. The system warms the floor fast, but unfortunately, the room floor also cools quickly hence less efficient. The air radiant heating system may create an uncomfortable cold-heat alternating environment.

5.     Hydronic Radiant Heating System

A hydronic radiant heating system is the most common type of radiant heating system. The hydronic radiant heat system works by pumping water from the boiler and distributing it through the pipes to heat the floor. The system is efficient in that it can use different heat sources to heat water in the boiler.

6.     Heat Pump Heating Systems

Heat pump heating systems also comprise of a cooling system. The system uses an air-source heat pump whereby the system obtains heat from the outdoor air. The heating pump system passes outdoor air through the compressor to raise the temperature of the air. The wall mounting units then blow the hot air into the rooms, thus warming up your home. Wall-mounted units in different rooms allow for temperature control of each room. During summer, you can switch the system to a cooling system.

7.     Boilers

Boilers distribute heat to water which then vents out heat as it passes through the radiators. As hot water loses heat, it becomes the water cools down and returns to the boiler for reheating. Boilers may use oil or gas as a source of fuel for heating water.

A boiler uses a pump to circulate hot water through pipes that pass through radiators for heat exchange, thus warming the rooms. Boilers have temperature control and heat control thermostats.

Conclusion

Your comfort in your home is essential. Hence, having an efficient heating system that serves you well will ensure you enjoy your stay at home during the cold weather. However, the machines are bound to fail; in such a case, do not let the cold weather slow you down; instead, contact professionals for heating repair services.
